Sarah Jessica Parker’s New Shoe Collection is Worth a Major “Wow” from Carrie Bradshaw

InStyle February cover girl Sarah Jessica Parker has just made our dream of dressing like Carrie Bradshaw a bit more attainable. With the debut of her highly anticipated SJP collection, which will include Italian-made shoes, handbags, and other wardrobe must-haves designed by the actress and style icon, there is so much to get excited about. The actress-turned-designer discussed her new collection with Katie Couric in our latest issue, and gave us an exclusive peek at the line. ”They’re sexy and feminine,” Parker stated. Seemingly, earlier opportunities never felt right to the actress, but this collaboration with George Malkemus (President of Manolo Blahnik) was the perfect fit. “If I’m going to ask people for their hard-earned dollars, I’d better be making shoes I want to wear.”

Parker has always loved shoes, which made this new project a natural fit for her, but she has never been addicted to shoes in the same manner as Carrie Bradshaw. ”She would rather have shoes than furniture or food. I would always prefer a good meal, or travel,” the actress voiced. The line seems to have something for everyone: lace-up booties, slip-on sandals, strappy heels with a bow appliqué, ballet flats and, of course, sexy t-strap pumps—appropriately named “The Carrie”—that we think Parker’s Sex and the City character would have swooned over. ”We tossed out the idea that neutral only means brown or black. Tweaking rules of, like, what’s appropriate for the office. I mean, what—are you less capable if your shoe is the color of a berry?” Parker said of her color choices.

Our favorite part about the line? The SJP signature detail that let’s everyone know you’re wearing her shoes. ”They all have grosgrain as a trim or accent. When I was little, I wore a grosgrain ribbon in my hair everyday,” she said. Look for the SJP collection ($150-$400) starting February 28th at select Nordstrom stores and on nordstrom.com.

First Look: Here’s A Single Shoe from Sarah Jessica Parker’s New Line

As mentioned at the end of February, Sarah Jessica is releasing her own show line exclusively in Nordstorm stores. Below you can catch the first look of her show line. Click on the image to make it larger. It is featured in the February 2014 issue of “Lucky” magazine. So be sure to pick up the copy. I’ll hopefully have the scan in the gallery soon.

There has been plenty of buzz in the press concerning Sarah Jessica Parker’s upcoming footwear line, named SJP, but zero images of the shoes. No matter, all is forgiven and forgotten thanks to the first look at the line in the new issue of Lucky. Pictured is a single shoe—as single as Carrie was when Aidan found out she was cheating on him with Big. Zing.

Still, it’s pretty clear from the image that Manolo Blahnik was a huge inspiration. In fact, it looks somewhat similar to those Mary Jane Manolos from the Urban Shoe Myth scene in the Vogue closet. Perhaps that’s to be expected when you partner with George Malkemus, the longtime CEO at Manolo Blahnik, on a footwear project. The full range will land at the end of February in Nordstrom stores and retails for between $200 to $400 $195 to $485 with most prices falling in the $350 to $400 range.

“The Commons Of Pensacola” Opening Night Photos

Sarah Jessica Parker hits the red carpet following the opening night of her off-Broadway play “The Commons of Pensacola” on Thursday (November 21) at Brasserie 8 1/2 in New York City. She was joined at the event by her husband Matthew Broderick, her co-star Blythe Danner, and the play’s writer Amanda Peet. She looked amazing, didn’t she? For fashion details, read the paragraph below. You can check out 94 MQ photos of Sarah at the event, which include walking the red carpet and after the show. Enjoy!

Sarah was styled perfectly for the opening night, wasn’t she? She rocked a rose gold silk lamé pleated Rocha Spring 2014 dress and added a Sonia Rykiel Spring 2014 copper and blue-trim jacket, elevating the festive nature of her look. To top it all off, she accessorized with Sophia Webster shoes and Fred Leighton jewels. You can check out her full look in the photos in the gallery. Sound off about your thoughts on her look for the evening in the comments. We’d love to know what y’all think!
